Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient healing art that originated in China over 3,000 years ago. It was discovered then that certain locations or "points" on the surface of our body are related to the internal bodily functions. These points are also connected by channels, or "meridians", that form a network throughout out the body. A circulating energy called Qi ("Chee") flows through these meridian networks at a proper balance and strength to keep the body healthy. When a disease or illness arises, the Qi becomes either too weak, too strong, blocked, or does not move in the proper pathways. An imbalance of the energy networks in our body results. Using Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis of tongue and pulse, acupuncture treatments can direct the body toward correcting the imbalance and restoring health.

The Balance Method of Acupuncture was developed by Richard The-Fu Tan, OMD, LAc from more than 20 years of clinical experience. It is a system of acupuncture based on minimal needles and distal point locations to obtain rapid results. Having a philosophical root from Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, the Balance Method Acupuncture is very effective in treating pain symptoms and a wide range of complex health conditions.

The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as an effective treatment for more than 200 health conditions.
